The Solid Earth Dynamics (SED) program aims to monitor and analyze seismic data in order to deepen our understanding of how focal mechanisms operate in the Philippines.
SED uses its seismic station to monitor, analyze, and contribute its earthquake data to international institutions (e.g. Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization, International Seismological Centre, and National Earthquake Information Center) to help advance research in seismology.
The program is also developing its own computational methods to understand focal mechanism in the Philippines, particularly in Mindoro island.
