Sentinel Asia: Aiming to mitigate disaster damage in the Asia-Pacific region from space.
In response to the multiple disasters experienced in Asia, the Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum (APRSAF) proposed the creation of Sentinel Asia in 2005. Sentinel Asia is an international collaboration of space agencies and disaster management agencies, providing disaster management support in the Asia-Pacific region using Earth observation technologies and Web-GIS mapping tools.
Members of Sentinel Asia, such as the Manila Observatory, can request satellite derived products and imagery through their participating and cooperating space agencies, particularly in times of disasters in their countries.
