Started in March 2014 and ending on February 2016, Dr. James Simpas, Head of the AQD, designed a locally-made sampler for particulate pollution. The pneumatics portion of the project are being fabricated and will be tested on the following year. This sampler is a filter-based size sampler selective sampler that will measure particles with aerodynamic diameter size of 10um, 2.5um, and 1um. This project is being done in collaboration with the Institute of Chemistry in University of the Philippines-Diliman. The project is funded by the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD).
