The diurnal variation of air pollution over Metro Manila is studied by means of model simulations. The model equations are based on the fluid dynamical equations. The equations are integrated for the case when the prevailing wind is calm and with a prevailing temperature and moisture typical of the rainy season. The variations of the intensity of the source strength, used in the model, correspond to the diurnal variation of the emission from vehicular traffic. The results of the integration show a predominantly semi-diurnal variation of concentration with maxima in the morning and in the evening. This variation agrees with the results of previous observational studies of diurnal variations over Metro Manila.
