The Manila Observatory at the iCACGP-IGAC Conference 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The Manila Observatory (MO) participated at the 16th International Commission on Atmospheric Chemistry and Global Pollution (iCACGP) Symposium and 18th International Global Atmospheric Chemistry (IGAC) Science Conference (iCACGP-IGAC Conference 2024) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on September 9-13, 2024.

Scientist from the Manila Observatory, Dr. Maria Obiminda L. Cambaliza, and physics student Marianne Avendano shared key findings from the CAMP2Ex airborne mission. Dr. Cambaliza discussed the distribution of aerosols across Metro Manila, while Avendano presented findings on the sources of air pollution in the Philippines using vertical profile data from the mission.

In addition, Dr. Melliza Templonuevo Cruz presented a poster on the determinants of personal exposure to PM2.5 among university students and employees in Metro Manila. Her research highlights the factors influencing individual exposure to fine particulate matter in Metro Manila.
