Workshop on Understanding the Latest Climate Science and Local Projections for Adaptation Planning

The Manila Observatory held a workshop entitled “Understanding the Latest Climate Science and Local Projections for Adaptation Planning” in Borongan City, Eastern Samar last August 6-8, 2024.

The workshop aimed to assist local government and non-government stakeholders in utilizing climate information, such as climate-adjusted hazard maps, to support risk-based local planning. It seeks to empower participants to communicate their climate experiences and envision potential climate scenarios.

The event provided a solid foundation for Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment (CDRA), the development of Local Climate Change Action Plans (LCCAP), and other related activities within the Climate Resilient Cities (CRC) project. It explored the risks posed by natural hazards and how hydrometeorological hazards might evolve due to climate change.
